At Lonicera Candle Co., every candle begins long before wax is poured or wicks are set—it begins with inspiration. From the delicate bloom of Tennessee honeysuckle to the smoky comfort of autumn bonfires, nature has always been at the heart of what I create. Each fragrance tells a story, and my role as maker is to capture those fleeting moments of beauty and translate them into a flame you can hold in your home.

Step 1: Inspiration from Nature

The journey begins with scent memories. A walk through the woods, fresh-cut wildflowers, the sweetness of honeysuckle in Tennessee springtime—these are the sparks that ignite an idea. I keep a journal of fragrance notes and ideas, sketching out how I want a candle to feel before I ever begin blending.

Step 2: Crafting the Fragrance

Scent is the soul of every candle. I spend hours blending fragrance oils, experimenting with different notes until the balance is just right. A candle isn’t just about smelling good—it should evoke emotion, memory, and atmosphere. Sometimes it takes ten tries to get it perfect, but the magic is in the process.

Step 3: Pouring with Care

Once the fragrance is ready, it’s time to bring it to life. Wax is melted slowly, stirred gently, and combined with the oils at just the right temperature. Every wick is centered by hand, every jar is inspected, and every pour is intentional. It’s a rhythm, almost meditative—watching liquid wax transform into something that will soon glow and bring warmth to someone’s home.

Step 4: Handcrafted Details

When the candles are cured, the finishing touches begin. Labels are designed, printed, and hand-cut in-house. Each candle is packaged with care, ready to travel from my hands to yours. As a one-woman business, I handle every detail—fragrance development, label design, photography, packaging, shipping, even website updates and social media. It’s a labor of love from start to finish.
